SUMTER, S.C. — Overtime SC has announced its Week 0 High School Players of the Week presented by USC Sumter for games taking place between August 22nd and August 25th, 2019.
Waccamaw’s Denson Crisler has been awarded the Overall Player of the Week award and the Quarterback of the Week award presented by USC Sumter for his performance against Carvers Bay on Friday. Crisler finished 13-19 for 370 yards and five touchdowns in Waccamaw’s 44-0 victory.
Lower Richland running back Jeremy Barney has been awarded the Running Back of the Week award for his performance against Swansea. Barney rushed for 207 yards and two touchdowns in LR’s 41-39 victory.
Waccamaw’s Tyree Funnye earned Wide Receiver of the Week thanks to his performance against Carvers Bay. The senior wide receiver notched eight catches for 184 yards and three touchdowns on the night.
Heathwood Hall defensive lineman Rondarius Porter has been awarded the Defensive Lineman of the Week award for his performance against Robert E. Lee on Friday. Porter’s team lost, but he racked up 15 tackles, six sacks and a forced fumble.
Sumter middle linebacker Dontae Coleman has been awarded the Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Gamecocks 28-21 victory over Rock Hill. Coleman recorded 16 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and two tackles for loss to help Sumter’s defense hold after their offense committed eight turnovers.
