Player of the Week Awards presented by USC Sumter – Week 1

SUMTER, S.C. — Overtime SC has announced its Week 1 High School Players of the Week presented by USC Sumter for games taking place between August 29th and September 2nd, 2019.

AC Flora’s Matt Pack has been awarded the Overall Player of the Week award and the Running Back of the Week award for his performance against Union County on Friday. Pack rushed for 226 yards, scored four touchdowns, and threw for a touchdown in his team’s 40-21 victory over Union County.

Sumter’s Hayden Vasquez has been awarded the Quarterback of the Week award presented by USC Sumter. Vasquez led the Gamecocks to a 63-2 victory over local rival Crestwood. He racked up 192 yards and four touchdowns – all in the first half.

Andrew Jackson’s O.J. White has been awarded the Wide Receiver of the Week for his outing against St. Johns. White caught five passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns in his team’s 69-0 victory.

Rodrick Dorsey from Andrews High has been awarded the Lineman of the Week award. Dorsey dominated the offensive line in his team’s 53-0 victory over Hemingway. The Yellowjackets racked up 337 yards on the ground, while Dorsey graded out at 87% with four knockdown blocks.

Bishop England’s Drew Owens has been awarded the Defensive Player of the Week award. Owens collected 11 tackles, two tackles for loss, three sucks, and a caused fumble to help us team outlast Baptist Hill 31-12.
