Friday night the Hannah-Pamplico Raiders traveled to Latta and brought home a 31-14 Region 2A-VII victory with them.
Lane Calcutt led the team with 100 yards passing and two touchdowns, and Kenyan Leggett added three touchdowns.
The Raiders opened the scoring with an 80-yard touchown run by Leggett in the first quarter for a 6-0 lead.
Davian Coaxum recorded two interceptions to stop Latta drives, and then Legget scored the second of his three touchdowns on the next drive.
Calcutt then hooked up with Rayonte Eaddy on a 9-yard scoring strike and would later find TyShaun Self on a 41-yard pass over the middle to extend the Raider lead.
Legget led the Raiders on the ground with 12 rushes for 179 yards. Calcutt completed six passes for 100 yards. Self led the defense with four solo tackles along with Legget, Gage Godwin, and Javonte Ellison adding three each.
“The offense was able to keep drives going so the defense was able to get plenty of rest,” said Hannah-Pamplico head coach Jamie Johnson. “It was also encouraging to see us be able to mix the pass and run so that should give us some confidence moving forward.”
Coach Johnson also stated how impressed he was with Leggett’s play in the game “He played on both sides of the ball and was equally effective running and tackling.”
The Raiders improved to 5-4 on the season and 4-2 region play.
HP will host Andrews on Friday night at 7:30 at Raider Field for their Senior Night.
